    Religious Education

The school does not have a formal religious affiliation, and it welcomes children and families from all faiths as well as those with no religious background. As part of our broad and balanced curriculum, pupils will be introduced to the key stories, teachings, and traditions of the Christian religion, which forms the foundation of much of our cultural heritage. Alongside this, children will also explore the beliefs and practices of other major world religions. This approach helps pupils develop an understanding of different faiths, encourages respect for diverse viewpoints, and supports their growth as thoughtful, informed, and compassionate individuals.

We recognise that families hold a wide range of beliefs, and we fully respect the right of parents to request that their child be withdrawn from religious education lessons or school assemblies that involve acts of collective worship. Should parents choose to do so, appropriate arrangements will be made to ensure that their child remains fully supervised and safe at all times. During these periods, pupils will be offered a calm and comfortable space where they can read, reflect, think quietly, or, if they wish, practise aspects of their own faith in a respectful and private manner. Staff will always ensure that these alternative activities are meaningful and sensitive to the needs of each individual child.
