At Juniper Hill School we have an active team working with the children receiving Pupil Premium funding.  The children have opportunities to meet termly, where they share how they find school life and what they have been up to. Every year, children go on an additional funded trip off-site at different times.  This year, our KS1 children have visited Norden Farm for a Christmas play.  Our KS2 children will be visiting the Windsor Adventure Play Park in the summer term.

Every term, our Pupil Parliament (our collection of Pupil Premium children) decide on a school-wide competition we run as a school.  When children share their competition with the school during an assembly, they share important facts or inspiring stories before sharing their exciting competition.  This year, our Christmas competition had the school creating festive decorations using recycled materials.  Our Pupil Parliament shared facts with the school about the impact of store-bought decorations on the environment. The children were then challenged to create festive decorations using only recycled materials, therefor minimising the impact on the environment. At Easter time, our competition is to design an Easter Egg, which will be used to decorate the hall for our final assembly.  These competitions create a sense of unity, and our Pupil Parliament have the opportunity to prepare, present and judge the entries.

We have an active Pupil Premium Governor, who visits us weekly and reads with a select group of children.  This is also a vital opportunity to have an individual talk to those children who need reassurance and a boost in confidence.  Our Pupil Premium governor also joins us for our termly Pupil Parliament meetings.
