Year 4 had the pleasure of visiting Chiltern Open Air Museum, where we stepped back in time to discover what life was like for the Anglo-Saxons.
During the day, we took part in an excellent Anglo-Saxon workshop. We explored the daily lives of Anglo-Saxon people, learning about their homes, clothing, weapons, traditions and the important role they played in shaping Britain’s history. Through hands-on activities and engaging demonstrations, we were able to experience history in a fun and memorable way.
We also became archaeologists for the day by taking part in an archaeological dig. Working carefully, we searched for hidden artefacts and discovered how archaeologists uncover clues about the past. It was exciting to investigate our finds and learn how even the smallest objects can help us understand history.
