Year 3 had an incredible time during Egyptian Day, arriving in the most amazing costumes that truly brought Ancient Egypt to life. In the morning, the children were introduced to the mystery of the Pharaoh’s poisoning and enthusiastically took part in ten hands-on activities, ranging from mummification to designing traditional Egyptian games. They approached every task with excitement, while showing great respect and care toward the adults leading the sessions and the equipment they used. In the afternoon, the children enjoyed a grand Egyptian banquet in honour of the King and Queen, taking on different group roles and putting their acting and dancing skills to the test as they performed ancient Egyptian folk stories and traditional dances. We were blown away by their confidence, creativity and sensibility throughout the day, which ended with a delicious selection of banquet foods and a cup of pretend “wine” to cleanse their palates!
