  • Fire Fighters Visit

Last Friday, our Year 5 children had the privilege of learning first- hand what it is like to be a firefighter. Not only did we get a close look at all the intricate hoses, rescue apparatus and protection gear, we also got to go inside the fire truck and see all the items on the inside of the truck. What an absolute treat! We thought it was really cool to see the water blasters being turned on. One of the children used a Heat Detecting Monitor on her own - it was funny! The children thought the first aid equipment in the fire truck was really interesting. Who knew they used so many different things! We were surprised at the variety of different hoses the truck stores.

Year 5s, you listened exceptionally well to the firefighters who visited us and you showed our school values of curiosity and respect perfectly. Well done!

We would like to extend a warm thank you to the 4 fire fighters from the Beaconsfield Station who took time out of their busy day to come and educate our classes.
