Working with local businesses, community organisations and other schools helps us share ideas, learn from others and provide enriching opportunities for our children. These partnerships strengthen our school and bring our value of Community to life by showing the importance of working together, learning from others and supporting one another.

Corporate Members of the BOURNE END & COOKHAM ROTARY CLUB (Including Flackwell Heath & The Wooburns)

Juniper Hill School became a corporate member of the local Rotary Club during the 2025-2026 academic year. We feel very privileged to be part of such a respected organisation. Rotary is a global network of volunteers who work together to make a positive difference in the world through humanitarian service, goodwill and peace.

Our membership has three key aims:

• To develop links with Matipula Primary School in Chongwe, near Lusaka, Zambia. Building a partnership with a school in Zambia helps our children learn about different cultures, traditions and ways of life, promoting respect, understanding and a celebration of diversity. It also helps pupils recognise that, despite our differences, we share many common values and experiences.

• To raise money for Rotary charities. Through fundraising activities, our pupils help support projects that improve education, health and opportunities for young people both locally and around the world. This strengthens their understanding of community and the importance of helping others.

• To take part in Rotary competitions. These opportunities encourage creativity, challenge and achievement, enabling children to showcase their talents and represent the school.

With the support of members of our community, we have created a website for Matipula Primary School, designed a school logo, sent literacy resources, letters and photographs, and are currently working together on a book written by the children from both schools.

Chiltern Rangers 

At Juniper Hill School, we are proud of our partnership with the Chiltern Rangers, which enriches our outdoor learning curriculum and helps children develop a deeper connection with the natural world. Through hands-on conservation projects and habitat management days, our pupils learn beyond the classroom while developing practical skills, resilience, teamwork and environmental responsibility.

Working alongside the Chiltern Rangers enables children to take part in real conservation initiatives, supporting local wildlife habitats and helping to drive our Butterfly Curriculum. These experiences help pupils understand the importance of caring for their environment and foster a lifelong appreciation of the natural world.

Our partnership has also provided unique opportunities for our children, including the privilege of featuring in the BBC Countryfile programme Chalk of the Chilterns in May 2026

Dreams - Love your bed

Dreams Bedquarters' head office is located in Loudwater, very close to our school. Over the past two years, as part of their Community Days, more than 15 volunteers from both the Technology Team and the People Team have visited Juniper to deliver the local authority's Footsteps road safety programme to children in Years 1, 2 and 3.

Thanks to the Dreams team, our children have learnt vital road safety skills, helping them to make safe and responsible choices when travelling to and from school. The Dreams team are kind, generous people who freely give their time to support our community. We greatly value this partnership and the important contribution it makes to keeping our children safe.

Challenge Partners - Working with other schools

We joined Challenge Partners in the 2023-2024 academic year. Our membership is important to us and has played a significant role in our school improvement journey. It provides valuable opportunities to collaborate with other schools, share our own expertise and learn from the practice of others. The annual Quality Assurance Review enables us to celebrate our successes while encouraging us to reflect on how we can continue to improve. Through this partnership, Juniper Hill School has achieved the highest overall estimate of Leading and has been recognised with multiple Areas of Excellence, providing further opportunities to contribute to the wider educational community while continuing to develop our own practice.

Over the past three years, the Leadership Team has visited a number of outstanding schools, bringing back new ideas, inspiration and effective practices to enhance teaching and learning at Juniper. We have also welcomed colleagues from other schools to visit us and to learn from our areas of strength.

We are happy to share our work in the following areas:

• Inclusion - creating a nurturing environment where all children are respected, valued, supported and involved, regardless of their needs.
• I'm a Clever Writer - our carefully planned and progressive approach to writing, which supports children to develop confidence, creativity and high standards in their written work.
• Kagan Cooperative Learning - our commitment to highly engaging, collaborative learning structures. We are working towards becoming a Kagan Model School in the coming years.
• Art - a curriculum strength at Juniper, where children study 36 artists from Year 1 to Year 6, developing both their artistic knowledge and creative skills through a rich and ambitious programme of study.
