Year 5 braved the blistering heat and visited the Living Rainforest; an exciting and memorable experience for everyone. As soon as we stepped inside, we exchanged the outside heat for intense heat, which made it feel like we had truly entered a tropical environment. Despite this, the children behaved brilliantly throughout the trip and showed great enthusiasm and curiosity.
We were lucky enough to see a wide range of fascinating animals, including crocodiles, toucans, and monkeys. There were also many unusual and colourful birds, each more interesting than the last. One of the highlights of the day was when some of us managed to spot Cinnamon, the rainforest’s free-roaming sloth, quietly resting in the coolest place it could find: tucked behind the monkey enclosures.
