Pupil Premium Provision at Juniper Hill School
At Juniper Hill School, we are committed to ensuring that pupils eligible for Pupil Premium funding receive a wide range of opportunities to enhance their educational experience and personal development. Our Pupil Premium team works closely with these children throughout the year. Pupils meet on a termly basis to discuss their experiences of school life, share their achievements, and provide valuable feedback about their learning and wellbeing.
Each year, our pupils also benefit from additional funded educational visits. For Key Stage 1 pupils, this includes an annual visit to Norden Farm to enjoy a Christmas theatre production, providing valuable cultural enrichment opportunities. Key Stage 2 pupils participate in visits to a variety of different places, to broaden their experiences.
Our Pupil Parliament, which is made up of Pupil Premium children, plays an active role in school life. Members collaborate to design and organise school-wide competitions, which they launch during assemblies. These presentations include the sharing of important information, inspiring stories, or key themes before introducing the competition to the wider school community. Competition entries are judged by older Key Stage 2 Pupil Premium children, providing meaningful opportunities to develop confidence, leadership and communication skills.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated Pupil Premium Governor who visits the school on a weekly basis. During these visits, the governor reads with a selected group of pupils and provides valuable opportunities for individual discussion, encouragement and confidence-building. The Pupil Premium Governor also attends our termly Pupil Parliament meetings, further strengthening pupil voice and supporting the ongoing development of our provision.
